Safe Haven
September

Due to a hardened society full of disinformation and polarization, combined with an uncertain future, some groups feel unheard. There is a need for connection, equality and a shared reality. That is why we need safety and relaxation at home and in the garden. This is expressed in the warm use of colour and forms that are fluently connected to each other. Everything seems to converge in to this trend. The garden is an important place to feel safe and to make beautiful memories in the shared neighborhood garden.

Plants that go with Safe Haven are cymbidium, anthurium, nephrolepsis, dracaena, calluna and gaultheria.

Characteristics
  • A vegetable garden with home-grown products, with vegetables, fruit and herbs
  • A shared neighborhood garden where you can eat and drink together
  • The focus on affordable sustainability, cheerful craft and fun
  • The need for connection and softening is expressed in the use of colour, materials and shapes

Colors and patterns
The trend has a warm colour palette with pink/brown tones. This gives a reassuring and relaxed feeling. As a pattern we use colour spots and 'dégradé' effects. Colours fade or gradually merge into each other. Gradient and semi-transparency play an important role in the soft look that is so characteristic of this trend.

Shapes and material
We use rounded forms. As with the gradient effect in colours, different shapes in the interior which flow smoothly into one another. This makes it feel as if the interior is embracing and reassuring us. As a result, products occasionally resemble living beings. Rounded forms in combination with soft and fluffy materials reflect the social need for connection and softening.
