Only the finest plants are specially selected for Rhythm of Nature. More so, they are continuously seeking new Calathea species, which will be exclusively available within the Rhythm of Nature line.

Assortment
A significant number of decorative varieties have been successfully bred and introduced in to the market. Currently, around 60 varieties are known, of which Gebr. Valstar B.V. commercially trades approximately 25. The breeding of Calathea is an ongoing process that has brought the company considerable recognition. Proprietary varieties like the 'Greystar' and 'Triostar' have been honored with a Holland Award for the best innovation in plant cultivation.

- MPS Certification: As a certified MPS grower, chemical use in disease and pest control is minimized, with a focus on organic protection.
- Heat Reutilization: At the Roosendaal facility, heat released during waste incineration is repurposed in collaboration with PreZero Energy.
- CHP Energy: Combined heat and power (CHP) generation provides energy and warmth for the greenhouse.
- Solar Panels: Since 2018, solar panels have been installed at the Maasland facility, generating 72,600 watts peak energy, ensuring sustainable electricity consumption.
- Geothermal Energy: Since 2018, Gebr. Valstar B.V. has been connected to geothermal energy at the Maasland location, a novel form of energy (geothermal) that reduces CO2 emissions, ensuring a sustainable future for Calathea cultivation in the Netherlands.
